Start with the printer connection
This guide uses Chrome for Android and Xiaomi's general wireless-printing advice. It does not establish compatibility with every Redmi software build or printer. Check the printer's own Android instructions before buying anything for this task.
Xiaomi says to use a printer supporting wireless printing or Wi-Fi Direct, with Android 9.0 or later for the documented setup. For the ordinary Wi-Fi route, connect the phone and printer to the same Wi-Fi network. Keep the printer and router powered on and the phone's Wi-Fi enabled.
If you use Wi-Fi Direct instead, follow the printer's manual for that connection. I'd get the connection working before trying to diagnose Chrome's print screen.
Open Chrome’s print screen
1. Open Chrome and the page, image or file you want to print.
2. Tap More at the top right, then Share and Print. These are Google's documented Chrome labels; another browser may use a different route.
3. Select the intended printer at the top of the print screen. Use the down arrow to review the print settings offered.
4. Inspect the preview, then tap Print when you are happy with the destination and settings. I'd start with a small, non-essential test page and check the paper result before sending a longer document.
Save a PDF when paper is unnecessary
In the same Chrome print screen, Google provides Save as PDF as an alternative destination. Select it and choose where to save the file on your device.
I'd reopen the saved PDF and check that the sections I need are present and readable. A saved filename alone would not tell me whether the layout worked.
If you then want that file on a Windows PC, my Redmi USB file-transfer guide covers copying it and checking the computer copy.
If the printer does not appear
Recheck power, the phone's Wi-Fi and the printer's network connection first. Xiaomi also advises checking that the phone's network settings match the router's network settings.
Android uses print services. Google's general route is Settings, Connected devices, Connection preferences, Printing, then the relevant service to turn it on. Redmi menus can differ, so search Settings for Printing if that route does not match. If your printer needs another service, follow its manufacturer's instructions; Google's general screen also offers Add service.
Printing support depends on the app. These Chrome steps are not a promise that every other app has a Print command. Also skip old instructions relying on Google Cloud Print: Google ended support on 1 January 2021.
